If you are using a projector, then you will need an impact screen. The price can vary anywhere between $250 to well over $1000, depending on the quality and design. Here is an excellent option if you are on a budget. Depending on the room you are using, you also should consider putting netting around the perimeter of the impact screen for any errant shots.
In reality, a golf swing happens very quickly, and can be difficult to improve, especially when you don’t have analytics and recording technology to visualize the swing. Subtle adjustments can result in dramatic improvements – it’s critical you understand your individual swing dynamics. You don’t need to be computer savvy to use the Golf Studio. The integrated Golf Studio operates from a single touch screen, and is simple to use.
We anxiously wait as the snow melts and the ground dries to take the first few hacks of the Spring.  Then with regular playing over the course of the Summer we actually look competent out on the course, just in time for October to hit and the clubs to get shelved for another six months.  Trouble is that the time next Spring arrives we’ve lost all the gains that were made last year and it’s just like starting over.

Accuracy of Measurement: Comprehensive measurements are critical, but the accuracy of these measurements is equally important. HD Golf™ Simulators measure with supreme accuracy. For example, we measure club face angle contact to within 1/10th of 1 degree. We also measure ball spin to within +/- 100rpm while competitor systems estimate (“calculate”) spin.

A: Keep in mind that it will vary, depending on the product you decide on. A simulator with performance feedback is obviously going to give you the most rapid improvement as it analyzes every little detail and gives you immediate feedback on how to correct your swing. In general, though, you’re going to see your skills better with any of these training tools.
At this price point, you are most likely looking at an OptiShot simulator. It’s currently around $300, and this is the entry level. You can have plenty of fun with a product like this, but be aware that the accuracy is limited. Optishot only measures the speed, path, and face angle of your club. From there it calculates where your ball is going but is not directly measuring the actual golf ball after impact. So you might not make great contact, but OptiShot would simulate a shot that was struck almost perfectly. It is essential to understand that the info provided could be misleading on individual shots, which could frustrate players.
Welcome to Virtual Golf 2. This latest software update to TrackMan’s simulator golf solutions delivers an experience that redefines what is possible to achieve in a simulator environment. This is the most crucial piece of the puzzle for your home golf simulator. The actual sensor system you choose will have an enormous impact on your experience. After speaking with Cory, I came to understand that there are endless variables. It all depends on the kind of golfer you are, your budget, the size of your room, how important accuracy is to you, and a host of other factors.
Our Flex Space golf simulator package does just this. Featuring a retractable golf simulator screen, and a golf mat that can be rolled up like a rug and put away, this package allows you to convert any room in your home into your own personal golf sanctuary. The best part is once your done, simply retract the screen and store your golf mat, and your space returns back into its original form.

I am doing a DYI system and would like to have a left and right handed tee position. I only have 12 feet between my walls. The system I have allows to move the hitting position off center by 2 feet. When I set that up, it doesn’t seem like there is enough space between the two hitting areas to stand. What is the preferred spacing and what position do you recommend?
The hardest part about setting up your golf simulator will finding a the right space.  A common area of space that many home simulators use is 10 feet wide by 15 feet long by 10 feet high.  The minimum code for basement ceiling height is 7 feet and the OptiShot simulator recommends at least 8.5 feet—we recommend even more height than that if you plan on swinging your driver in the simulator.  With that said, generally speaking the best spot for setting up your home golf simulator will be in the garage.
Something to note about Skytrak is that currently it only gives ball data (spin, distance etc). It will not provide measurements on your actual swing. The unit itself must be next to the golf ball, and some people have had issues with damage from errant swings. However, Cory believes Skytrak is going to fit the needs of most golfers at this price level. SkyTrak has several software integrations that will allow you to play golf courses and has a tremendous native software package for practice.
The R-Motion uses a sensor that mounts onto your golf club. So, as with the Zepp Golf 2, the Rapsodo also allows you to record your performance while playing golf in real time. However, the interesting part is that it comes with its own golf simulator, which includes 15 different courses as presets, and can easily run on your PC without any additional requirements. The sensor studies values such as ball speed, club speed, smash factor, launch angle, distance, and the swing path to provide instant and accurate feedback, while the simulator depicts quite a realistic movement of the ball which includes bounces and rolls.
This simulator does not come with as many accessories as some of the previous entries. However, what it may lose in versatility, it gains in technical prowess. The 3D Swing Analyzer is essentially a sensor that you wear on your hand that can connect to any device via Bluetooth. It analyzes the quality of the swing by measuring parameters such as club speed, club plane, backswing length, tempo, etc. But the real magic begins once your swing has been recorded. The Zepp Golf 2 has instant feedback capabilities, providing you with instant swing analysis as soon as your swing is complete. This prompt feedback allows you to improve your technique with each swing, making your practice session much more fruitful than it would have been otherwise.
